TMB Training Workshops
The training comprises 4 x 1 day workshops, each
day reflecting the main rungs on the e-adoption ladder – Inform,
Automate, Integrate and Re-invent.
Over the 4 workshops the entire TMB knowledge syllabus
is covered and examples/cases studies used to illustrate the applications
and business benefits of using the technologies.
In addition to this the workshops focus on communicating
and explaining the processes necessary for the application on ICT
to business in line with the performance standards defined in the
main units, and reference TMB website and other tools, which could
be used to help.
Exercises are used to allow delegates to think through
how they might help businesses apply the technologies for business
benefit.
The exercises also give delegates practice at applying
the processes defined in the performance standards to business situations.
The programme uses powerpoint presentations, video
clips, case studies, examples of web sites and group learning exercises
to communicate key learning points
Who is the training for?
The workshops are for advisers/consultants seeking
TMB accreditation as well as existing advisers wanting to get an
update and refresh.
In addition there is a version of the training suitable
for SME companies.
A full training pack is also available comprising
participant guides, leaders (instructor) guides, presentation materials,
case studies and video clips. |

(ii) ICT essentials - components of an internal network (PCs, servers,
routers, etc) ; the internet, intranet and enabling external communications.
Basic e-infrastructure and examples of specific configurations.
(iii) Internet for research - search engines, bots, newsgroups, major
sites and sources
(iv) Internet for communications - e-mail, messaging, 'chat', videoconferencing
(v) A framework for applying ICT to business - The BICT planning process.

(vi) Websites - different types, resources to build and maintain,
using unique aspects of internet to build effective sites - the key
principles - 4 C's.
(vii) Basic traffic generation techniques - search engine positioning,

is and the options; b2b, b2c. The different levels of integration
from e-mail ordering to complete integration of internal systems and
processes
(ii) Different suppliers and different options - DIY, ASP, One stop

(iii) Payment options and security considerations - on line authorisation,
secure servers. Security issues and strategies. Firewalls, virus protection.

(iv) B2b trading and extranets - examples. E-procurement (MRO)
(v) Relating business objectives and strategies to ICT applications.
Cost reduction, business development, people strategies. Tools and
